Meet Wendy
Following my graduation from the University of Western Ontario with my Master of Social Work in 2013, I worked both within the community and agency settings, working with individuals, couples and families in their journey of life. I am a Christian and believe we have been created to be in healthy relationships.
I am passionate about seeing relationships thrive through various stages of life. I provide counselling through an attachment lens, implementing Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) to create strong attachment bonds between individuals, and I am a proud member of ICEEFT - The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy.
With over 30 years of marriage to my husband Bruce, I bring both professional and personal experiences to the counselling room. My counselling sessions will be a safe and confidential space for you and your partner to understand your relationship and improve your connection with one another. You will find me non-judgemental, warm and easy to engage with.
My family and I are third-generation poultry farmers; we enjoy being engaged in the agricultural community around us. I love spending time with our four adult children and their families, and I find peace and rejuvenation with time outdoors - whether it be hiking through our property or gathering around a campfire with friends.

What is Emotionally Focused Therapy?
Sue Johnson, the founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), describes EFT this way: “EFT focuses on creating and strengthening the emotional bond between partners by identifying and transforming the key moments that foster an adult loving relationship: being open, attuned, and responsive to each other. Studies done on EFT in the past fifteen years have shown that 70 to 75 percent of couples who go through EFT see long-lasting results, recover from relational distress and are happy in their relationships”. Wherever you’re at in your relationship, I believe that EFT can help you and your partner form stronger bonds and improve your understanding of one another.
